Culinary Health & Essential Food Skills Series
Episode 3: Batch Cooking
Project Overview
Two research projects funded by the Conestoga New and Emerging Research Grant explored food security of Conestoga students and further Canadian post-secondary intuitions.
The Conestoga Food Research & Innovation Lab partnered with Cambridge Food Bank on a project funded by Dawn Foods Corporate Giving Program to develop a series of accessible, community-focused videos that support food and nutrition literacy among individuals accessing food bank services.
The project focused on creating inclusive, low-barrier learning resources that reflect the real-world contexts, constraints, and needs of participants. Food and nutrition literacy plays an important role in supporting food security, confidence, and overall well-being, particularly when information is delivered in formats that are practical, welcoming, and easy to access.
